“Laugavegurinn”, or Laugavegur hiking trail (55 km), is the most frequented and loved hiking trail in Iceland, which connects the Landmannalaugar and Skógar nature reserves. This trek spans four days and three nights, beginning at an altitude of approx. 600 meters and leaving from Landmannalaugar.
There is a reason this is considered one of the nicest treks in Europe! The trail offers a varied landscapes, which draw nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts from all over the globe.
Leading from Landmannalaugar’s geothermal valley and the southern highlands, to the foot of world famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano in the Þórsmörk, this trek is assisted by vehicle when moving from hut to hut.
A great variety of landscapes can be seen on this trail: mountains as diversely colored as the rainbow, ancient and vast glaciers, thundering hot springs, wide and wild rivers, peacful lakes, perilous ridges, majestic waterfalls, plunging craggy canyons and much more...
The difficulty of the track depends on the weather conditions. The huts along the trail have limited capacity and space fills up quickly, so book your trip before it's too late!
