Volcano Super Jeep Day Tour
In this tour we go as close as we are allowed to the volcano Bárðarbunga. Our guides are active members of the search and rescue team at Lake Mývatn and are certified WFR (Wilderness first responders).
We will follow closely the travel limitations issued by the Icelandic authorities.
Attention points: Bárðarbunga and Dyngjujökull volcano, Aldeyjarfoss waterfall, Laugafell natural geothermal pool.

We start every day at 08:00am from the tourist information centre at Reykjahlíð, Mývatn (next to the supermarket) and drive across the Engidalur valley to Bárðadalur valley and Aldeyjarfoss waterfall that is considered to be one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfall. From there we continue on the mountainroad F26 until we reach an area where we have a good view of the volcanic area of Bárðarbunga and Dyngjujökull glacier where an eruption is taking place.
While there we take you trough the basic local geology and the latest volcanic developements in the area. After a good stop to see the volcanic area we continue to the natural geothermal pools at Laugafell and soak in the hot pool before continuing back to lake Mývatn.
To book this trip follow the simple procedure below and pay 20% deposit. Print out the confirmation and bring it with you to the meeting point at Reykjahlíð. It is good to be there at 07:45am. On our way back to lake Mývatn we hunt for norhern lights (only winter time).
