The trip to the ice cave begins 140 kilometers north-east from Reykjavik, in the remote Kaldidalur valley at the southern end of Langjökull. The climb, aboard a "Monster Truck 8x8" reaches 1,260m of the ice mass; where, on a clear day, you can see the ice that shines down into the valley, the breathtaking scenery of Borgarfjöður and more landscapes on the horizon.
The majesty and greatness of Europe’s second largest glacier is impressive. It's like going back to the ice age.With this tour, you will be covering all possible prisms of the glacier, as you will have the opportunity to explore the surroundings, the surface and the heart of the 953km2 giant. On the way up, there will be two very interesting stops: Europe’s widest natural spring, Deildartunguhver, and the amazing Hraunfossar waterfall. And when returning, you will stand on the highlands, in the famous area of Kaldidalur and also the Þingvellir National Park. A 4-in-1 that will not only “touch” some very special places in Iceland, but also in your heart.
